The NY Funders Alliance is excited to partner with The New York State Office for the Aging and Departments of State and Health to conduct a webinar to help funders better understand the Governor’s vision to advance a Health Across All Policies and Age-Friendly approach into State and local policies, programs and initiatives. Under the State’s Prevention Agenda—which is the state’s blueprint for improving population health—and the health across all policies approach is taking a proactive approach to improve the lives of people of all age.  The broad-based initiative has already achieved a significant milestone—New York State has been designated the first Age-Friendly sate in the nation, as certified by AARP and the World Health Organization.

Presenters will give attendees practical background on the State’s health across all policies approach, actions to make New York age friendly and the economic case for these policy strategies, all within the framework of how government works.

In this webinar, focus areas will include:

• Introduction to New York State’s Prevention Agenda
• Overview of the Health Across All Policies (HAAP) Approach
• Discussion of the economic, social and intellectual contributions of the aging population
• Review of Smart Growth Principles and Age Friendly Communities
