Marissa Martin, the Advocacy Institute’s Executive Director, led a session on the current legislative landscape in Albany. We discussed the impact of the 2018 elections and what advocates and insiders observed during this first session.

Marissa covered what legislation did and did not pass in 2019 and the strategies that are being built for 2020. Last, Marissa shared tips for funders to have more effective legislative meetings. After the presentation, session attendees will headed out on a tour of the Capitol Building personalized for grantmakers, led by Jack McEneny, former NYS Assemblyman from the 104th District. .
